Court Dismisses Gas Well Suit and Denies Receivership
A $275000 civil suit over sale of stock to gas wells in Ohio and West Virginia was dismissed by Common Pleas Judge John Bolin. He refused a court appointed receiver, citing lack of precedent and funds, and found the Goffs not liable for illegal securities sales. Plaintiffs, including Konkler and his brother, alleged sales from 1962 to 1963 harmed 19 Athens residents and others.
