Dana admits starting eight Los Angeles brush fires

Donald R. Dana 32 confesses to eight brush fires in Los Angeles County and says he needs psychiatric help. In a signed statement he admits fires on U S 6 near Palmdale September 1 Sierra Madre October 30 Benedict Canyon November 6 and Little Tujunga Kagel Canyon November 13. Dana of Pasadena was booked on suspicion of arson. He told investigators when tense the only fire is inside him.

Fire damages Wright Patterson annex as two firefighters missing

A blaze at Wright Patterson Air Force Base damaged a two story annex of the Air Force Logistics Command. Firemen Dale V Kelchner and William J Collins both of Dayton were last seen entering the burning structure and are unaccounted for. The fire began in the basement or first floor of the annex and took about four hours to control. The main three story building housed millions in equipment and personnel records.

Robert King High wins a third two year term as mayor of Miami. He polled 25 626 votes, more than double the combined total of four opponents in the nonpartisan election held Tuesday.

New York Governor Nelson A Rockefeller joined a 500 mile coast survey in Merauke New Guinea as Dutch and local crews hunted the coast for Michael Rockefeller missing since Sunday. DiSalle Expected To Sign or Let Stand Ohio Legislature Adjourn

Governor DiSalle faces decisions on 1962 63 general appropriations and a near 33.4 million capital improvements measure after the 104th General Assembly adjourned sine die. Legislators previously approved a 40 acre Toledo land transfer to St. Luke's Hospital and a revised capital bill. Security Director Quits Under Fire

The National Security Agency security director S Wesley Reynolds resigned at the Defense Department request under its standards of conduct banning acceptance of favors from those doing business with the government. This was the second high level NSA resignation this week, following James B Cash Jr being fired at the Federal Housing Administration. The inquiry continues following the House Un American Activities Committee lead. Maurice H Klein had previously resigned as personnel director for lying on a 12 year old job application.

In Moscow two German men Walter Naumann 27 and Peter Sonntag 22 pleaded guilty to spying for the United States. They testified they were guilty only in the sense of the indictment at Moscow’s first public spy trial since Powers.
