Meigs Convict Two Escapees Recaptured After 12 Hours
William E. Larkins age 30 of Meigs County serving a life sentence for murder and Richard E. Mauch age 27 of Allen County serving 1 to 15 years for robbery escaped London Prison Farm by a time clock device. They were caught near Plattsburg in Clark County. Larkins was convicted for the fatal shooting of Mrs. Sarah Lawrence in January 1936. He confessed and had been moved to the Ohio Penitentiary before transfer to the prison farm in 1945.
