Boy killed over milk allergy bookends Chicago lagoon case
Kyrian Knox, a 2-year-old in Chicago in 2015, died after allegedly crying from milk intolerance while in the care of 41-year-old Kamel Harris. Kyrian’s dismembered remains were found in Garfield Park Lagoon on Sept. 5, 2015, with Harris charged this week with first degree murder, concealment of a homicidal death, and dismemberment. Police traced blood in Harris’s vehicle to the boy, and prosecutors describe a deadly escalation after a long afternoon of crying. Harris, transported from Winnebago County Jail, faces murder charges as the investigation concludes with the body’s recovery and identification.
