Henry Burke filed an affidavit charging Mike Neusade with shooting with intent to kill and assault and battery. Neusade pleaded not guilty and waived examination. bound over to the grand jury under $1,000 and $100 bonds. Burke says Neusade chased them from his farm while they gathered hickory nuts and fired at them. Burke sustained head wounds from the gun.
Warren reports ethyl alcohol found in the stomach of Mrs. Elizabeth Turvey, 40, found dead in a room. Coroner J. G. Henshaw says the vital organs were sent to state chemists for examination and notes heart disease caused the death. Three men arrested in the case remain in custody for questioning.
French scientistsGeorge Claudeand Paul Boucherot outlined a system using tropical sea temperature differences to generate steam in a partial vacuum. Water from deep seas would condense steam after turbines, creating a vacuum to repeat the cycle and produce mechanical work comparable to Niagara Falls power.

He leaves a widow Matilda Johnson and a son Ray, and was a 25 year active member of the Christian church. funeral planned at that church.
River rat attack leaves 4 year old Gullion Charles injured with three scalp wounds after a river rat weighing about two pounds bit him near the river. Parents killed the rodent and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Prof Harry F Scott of Ohio University described Mussolini’s rule in Italy to Athens Rotary at Hotel Berry. He noted Mussolini holds all powers, rules through fascist groups, and faces no strong opposition besides aging leaders. The talk covered censorship, economic aims, self sufficiency, and possible future territorial moves.
