Community groups host meetings and awards across town
Mrs. Paul Kimes and Mrs. James Woods entertained Lydia Lash Evans Club with a talk by Jacob Mirviss of Ohio University on Israel and slides of a family visit. Various club members attended and future meetings planned at Mrs. Fred Schilling and Mrs. George Sheeter homes. The Summit Grange and Albany Elementary School Mothers' Club reported programs, dues, and planned activities including a Thanksgiving basket, ball game, and bake sale. The Union WSCS and Inner City group discussed charity efforts and Christmas gifts for a ward child. Richland Garden Club members attended the regional meeting with awards for garden therapy and best gardener at Athens State Hospital and cash prize.
