Armistice Day ends Mrs Nana Scott’s 18 month stand to stop Philadelphia city crews from filling a ditch in front of her home. She refused to yield until convinced the city would pay her mandamus award in cash rather than bonds.
Iron River Michigan witnesses swelling anger as Magloire la Belle, 43, a former pugilist, is jailed after the slaying of Rev. James Lenhart, 65, at St. Agnes Church. The assailant faced prior assault charges from July 1933 and was spirited from the city jail as crowds demanded answers on police handling.

Cincinnati November 12 A sideline spectator Mrs Emma Bice age 29 witnessed a chaotic scramble as a fumbled ball rolled toward the stands. Both teams rushed for it and she suffered a broken leg and was hospitalized.
Dr R W Mondhank 61 a prominent Lancaster physician and surgeon died early today after a lengthy illness. He practiced in Lancaster for 30 years leaving a widow and one son.
Seventeen year old Florence Thompson of Redtown is in critical condition at Columbus Hospital after a suspected beating following a Saturday night dance at Lamborn's Pavilion Glouster. She was found on Route 13 north of Redtown with a fractured skull and crushed right ear, with deputies pursuing unknown companions.
Members and descendants of the nine founders gathered for Athens Presbyterian Church 125th year observances. The weekend events began with a dinner and concluded with communion services led by Dr W Gamert, joined by elders and visiting ministers. Notables included I. M. Foster, A B Sina, J R Gentry, and others among seventeen men and one woman. Dr Edwin B Townsend praised the church’s enduring work since Rev Jacob Lindley founded the congregation.
Bloodhounds from Gallpolis led Sheriff Charles Stratton to Rolland Dye, 6, from Deep Hollow, Carthage Township, after 20 bushels of corn vanished from Mrs. Glenore Wrights farm. The scent reportedly traced four miles to Dye home where he confessed.
