Investigators say smoke inhalation likely caused the death of Mrs. Margarette Cox 70, widow of former Ohio governor James M. Cox. She was found unconscious in a bathroom after a Sunday fire that gutted her bedroom. toxicology pending.
A dynamite bomb exploded on a Harlem subway train at 125th Street killing 15 year old Sandra Breland of Brooklyn and wounding 18 others. Police say the device likely used dynamite and suspect the so called Sunday bomber is not responsible for this blast.
Hollywood star Clark Gable, recovering at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital after a Sunday heart attack at his Encino home, was aided by quick ambulance care and oxygen which his wife said prevented worse damage.
