Peaceful SDS Mourns Death Of Democracy At Ohio University
About 50 Students for a Democratic Society members marched with a black casket and American flag from West Green to the main campus. They laid the box near the monument and placed white crosses with inscriptions around it, condemning the 1968 campaign and voicing opposition to Humphrey Nixon and McCarthy. Hunter blamed for Waterloo forest fire near Mineral
A hunter caused a timber fire on Pearl Clark's farm one mile southeast of Mineral in Waterloo Township. Ed Chesser, district fire warden, said about 214 acres burned after the hunter tried to smoke out a squirrel, the fire taking two hours to extinguish. He warned hunters not to smoke out wildlife as dry leaves and brush easily spread fires.
