Columbus Ohio November 6 Ohio re elected Governor Cox by about twenty thousand over Frank B Willis Republican with a Republican majority expected in Congress. The wets and drys clash over the referendum amendment as returns show Cox carried Cleveland Cincinnati Columbus Toledo and other cities.
Columbus Nov 6 With Cox a possible winner attention focused on the tight state ticket. In 23 counties Cox leads 201 824 to 167 055 for Willis a 34 769 margin. Smith Republican leads Ful ton Democrat for secretary of state by 4 563 and Price Republican over McGhee Democrat for attorney general by 3 171. Judges Wanamaker and Robinson, Republicans, nearly certain for the Supreme Court. Wanamaker succeeds himself and Robinson takes Newman’s seat.
Athens county reported strong Republican support in statewide races with Israel Foster winning the Tenth District Congress seat. Local candidates included M. B. Archer for state senator and Henry Hatch for General Assembly, with many others elected or reelected in a broad county sweep amid turnout and ballot shifts.
At noon today with 4195 of 5756 precincts reported in Ohio wets led 309,666 to 272,199, a 34,467 majority. Rural precincts remain to report, making final results doubtful as to party control of the delegation.
Governor Cox's statewide lead over Willis rose to 29,136 with returns from nearly all precincts. The tally showed Cox 378,357, Willis 347,221. Willis sent morning congratulations and voiced hope the state would stay dry.
State Republican Chairman Fullington claimed Republicans would control both state legislative houses with incomplete returns. Democratic Chairman Durbin predicted a Democratic senate while noting the lower house would be close. J A White, dry manager, asserted at least 85 of 126 dry representatives and 20 of 33 dry senators, based on 1600 rural precincts still out.
Early results from Michigan show Truman H. Newberry ahead of Henry Ford by about 6000 votes with nine small counties uncounted and a few counties still incomplete.
Incomplete returns from ten counties in Missouri's ninth district at noon show Speaker Champ Clark leading Judge B H Dyer by 2180 votes for Congress.
Early returns show Medill McCormick elected senator for Illinois with strong Republican gains. Chicago results indicate 17 Republicans and 6 Democrats in the U S House, with four other districts still close as Republicans lead.
Ohio University plans a season opener against the University of Cincinnati this Saturday announced by Coach Gullum. Attendance depends on health rulings as flu restrictions may lift. Previous games were canceled with Otterbein Ohio Wesleyan Marietta Ohio Northern. Camp Sherman and Denison on schedule.

Berlin dispatch reports the German armistice delegation has moved to the west front. Diplomatic belief holds Germany must accept or reject allied terms within five days of receipt. The indemnity clause in the President's peace formula signals stiffer penalties for continued fighting.
Paris reports say Germany faces disintegration with secession growing in the south. Bavarian deputies are said to have adopted a plan to form a new state including Bavaria Württemberg Baden and German Austria as Austro Hungary collapses.

Amsterdam says Berlin appointed two admirals and two generals to negotiate while a German proclamation calls for orderly conduct and united effort for an honorable peace. Allied forces press the great battle, aiming to force swift acceptance or trap much of the German army along the Ardennes edge near Maubeuge Hirson Sedan and Montmedy.
Washington reports Marshal Foch has the armistice terms for Germany and awaits German field command approval. Berlin notes express willingness to accept the peace principles set by President Wilson. Cable transmission should reach Germany within 24 hours, with world reaction possible in 48 hours.
In a ten day battle ending with the Austrian armistice effective, Italian and allied forces achieved a vast victory. They captured over 300000 prisoners and 5000 guns, liberated 1860 square miles and more than 1000 villages, with Italian progress averaging 31 miles daily.
The Allied and American governments will cooperate with Austria Hungary Bulgaria and Turkey to furnish civilian populations in those countries. The decision was reached at the Versailles conference today.
Election day in Nelsonville was quiet with Governor Cox carrying the city and Prohibition passing at 616 to 462. Willis collected 345 votes while several local races showed lighter turnout. A three mill tax levy failed to reach two thirds, tallying 598 to 433. A Swedish copper ore deposit of about 90 percent purity was reported discovery.
Indiana returns early today show Republicans gaining four seats and the entire GOP delegation elected. The report notes solid Republican support in Indianapolis with full party control of Indiana’s congressional representation.
Word received here states Lieutenant Tom Halliday son of Postmaster J Halliday died of battle wounds and Benjamin Stormont son of Assistant Postmaster A J Stormont also died from wounds in Gallipolis during the navy action.
Washington reports the War Department will ship all ammunition in bulk for overseas transport, with only officer allowances to be carried. Soldiers will sail with no ammunition in their personal gear to “travel light.”
