Final preparations fill the Athens High School auditorium for a four day Messenger Cooking School. Dairy products fruits bread and other foods arrive as refrigerators are connected. M Harris an expert in home economics lectures to local women about cookery and the value of good recipes.

POMEROY November 5 three Meigs County residents are reported dead. Mrs Melisea Crary widow of L V Crary died at her daughter’s home in Middleport leaving two sons and two daughters. Mrs Elizabeth N Stanley widow of Dr A A Stanley died in Rutland aged 99 with a foster son George Pratt mayor of Rutland. Lora Reuter 76 died at his brother’s Peach Fork home with funeral at Bethany M E Church conducted by Rev W A Pohl. he is survived by his wife and a foster daughter. Funeral arrangements not yet made for Crary.
Cincinnati reports detectives linked the slaying of Woodrow Dever to events after he boarded a New York Central passenger train at Springfield. His brothers said they drove him to the station where he hid in shrubbery until the train departed as three other men joined just after him.
