Election returns show Democrats edging toward plurality in several states

Partial official counts based on late Tuesday night tallies indicate Democratic gains and Republican setbacks across multiple states including Kentucky Michigan Oregon and California. Estimates suggest Meninley leads in Illinois and a broad regional shift may yield a national plurality by Wednesday evening with remaining states still undecided. A Methodist tea at the home of D. B. Stewart is scheduled for Friday November 6 at five o clock with supper served.

Fenny Chemist Elected to Ohio University Chair

The Executive Committee of Ohio University elected this distinguished Fenny Chemist to fill the chair vacated by the resignation of Dr. Walker Bowman. Dr. Fay, born November 1 in Natick, Massachusetts, studied at Harvard and Berlin, earned a PhD, and held teaching posts in Vermont and California before pursuing German research with Fischer. He returned to America this year and works with the Agricultural Experiment Station in Crane, Maine, supported by testimonials from notable chemists.
