Kenneth Collins was unopposed for re-election to the Third Ward Council seat. Ralph Nuzum will become city auditor in January after winning 2,820 votes in an uncontested race. Robert L. Lee died earlier this year, and incumbent Solicitor Gerald Mollica led with 2,792 ballots. Mollica was also unopposed. Local talk predicted a close mayoral race with Barrett favored over Van Dyke.
