The Krodel Park Lake project in Mason County is near completion with final bank work by Kyger Creek Power Plant and Wamsley and Son Construction. Next spring the WV Department of Natural Resources will stock 22 acres with at least 25 000 game fish across three species. the league seeks sand hay and straw donations to finish the site.

Gallipolis fire crews battled three grass fires Sunday. Fifteen firefighters, two trucks fought a five acre blaze on the Robert Woods property at Walters Hill after a transformer sparked a fire from a bird. A power wagon axle broke during a second run. A Route 35 and Bob McCormick Road blaze was also tackled by Marlin Wedemeyer and crew.

Leaping Probationer Arrested in Point Pleasant
Henry Erlwine, 21, of Point Pleasant Route 1, fled a home when state police and probation officer A C Neal came to arrest him for forgery and probation violation. He was arrested Saturday night. Samuel Jenkins of Lakin was jailed Saturday night on felonious assault warrant, via Sheriff’s Dept. City officers detained Rodman Forbis and Owens Badgley both 46 and 34 for intoxication. Theodore Alvin Sharpe, 20, Athens Route 3, was stopped by Mason Police Chief Fred Taylor for speeding. William W Watterson of Apple Grove was taken on a trespass warrant by Constable Ebert.

Gallipolis Municipal Court fined Roger L. Greenlee 20 of Point Pleasant 160 dollars plus costs for driving while intoxicated reckless operation and disorderly conduct. Greenlee received 10 days in jail and a six month license suspension after a Pine Street one car crash. Jimmie L. Wood 20 of Point Pleasant paid 25 dollars and costs for intoxication and disorderly conduct. Norman L. Counts 31 of Grayson Kentucky was fined 50 dollars and costs with five days in jail and six month license suspension for driving while intoxicated. Clyde W. Collins 47 of Grayson Kentucky forfeited a 27.50 bond for intoxication. Raymond N. Simmons 37 of Northup Route 1 and James L. Montgomery 38 of Ashland Kentucky and Andrew P. Bryant 65 of Columbus were fined 10 dollars and costs for intoxication.
