In East Norristown Pennsylvania on November 2 a westbound freight derailed after striking a passing train on the Trenton cut off. J H Cable 52 an engineer and William LeFre 49 a brakeman, both born Harrisburg, died instantly while J W Powers a flagman from the same city was slightly injured. The engine overturned and several cars derailed.
The Mansfield horseshoe pitchers league voted to invite the state tournament to meet in Mansfield next fall. National secretary Art Headlough of Akron supported the move and promised to press the matter with state officers, with updates within thirty days.

Samuel Rea’s private car in the Broad Street Terminal housed the body of James A. Cuyler a leading figure in the railroad shopmen strike negotiations whose death was attributed to heart failure. Cuyler a New York City resident had spoken in New York and was en route to his hometown when found. His body will be returned to New York for burial.
