Man Reunites With Vietnam Rescue Turtle Ba Cu at Columbus Zoo
Jim Lowery, a Vietnam era Navy veteran, found Ba Cu the Vietnamese pond turtle he sent to the Columbus Zoo in 1966 after rescuing her from a Vietnamese pond. Ba Cu, now about 50 and the oldest of her species in records, is not on public display but thrives under careful care at the zoo where 12 such turtles exist.
