Move Inland Gay Head Lighthouse Begins Slow Relocation
In Aquinnah Massachusetts the 160 year old Gay Head Lighthouse, a key mariner beacon, starts a staged 25 foot move inland on rails powered by hydraulics. Crews expect arrival on a concrete pad 135 feet southeast, with restoration to follow and a July relighting planned.
