Middleport officials held dedicatory exercises for Riverview Cemetery as part of Memorial Day events. RB L. Horden and brokers sold the private lot to the village, with a program including band performances, a prayer by Rev H A Roth frock, remarks by Hon Thomas A Jenkins and Judge Ervin, and a detailed War History Commission briefing. The ceremony honored veterans and highlighted ongoing cemetery upkeep and future expansion.

Memorial Day dedication brought many visitors to Letart including Congressman and Mrs Thomas A Jenkins Ironton Judge and Mrs Edgar Ervin Middleport A Y Howell Meigs County War History Commission chair and Gold Star Mother Mrs Howell. Benny Buck sustained a broken leg in bicycle accident and is receiving local treatment.
