By-Pass Route 2 Proposed To Ease City Traffic
Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce outlines traffic relief steps for Sixth Street Viand Main and Fourth Street parking changes. A planned Route 2 by pass would divert through traffic around the business district, directing routes 2 17 north and 2 35 south.

Pool To Be Opened Sunday Afternoon
In Point Pleasant the Shawnee pool will open Sunday at 1 p.m. for the summer season. The Kiwanis Club manages the city owned pool with C. J. Hyer as pool committee chairman. The bath house 66 by 20 feet houses dressing rooms toilets showers a ticket window concession stand and storage. Sue Rhodes will run the ticket window and concession stand. The pool operates daily 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

Man to place flags on 36 graves for Memorial Day in Leon
Grant Beaver will mark his 56th Memorial Day by placing flags on 36 veterans graves at Hill Top Cemetery in Leon. Though not a veteran of major wars, the 90 year old plans not to miss the tribute, assisted by daughter Kathryn and grandson Douglas.

Bertha Harmon attended Harrisonville 50th anniversary of Chapter 255 Order of Eastern Star where she received a 50 year pin. Her husband and sister also earned 50 year recognitions.
