Kaiser Center to be West's largest office building
Henry J. Kaiser, turning 76, builds a 28 story Oakland headquarters for his empire. The Kaiser center will house his 75,000-strong workforce across 17 states and five countries, with plans for occupancy in late 1959. His ships, homes, roads, dams, and factories span global projects. He rose from a $1.50 weekly start to a billion-dollar sales era, guided by risk taking and human needs. His son Henry Jr and brother Edgar aid the drive.
