Major Street Construction Bids Signal Delays Hidden
Four major city street projects have bids below engineer estimates due to a statewide stationary engineers strike delaying start. Low bids range from 109 713 to 265 000 for widening and repaving Madison Samson E State and Canterbury Drive and errors in one bid are noted. The plan calls for 26 foot wide streets with Samson Avenue at 36 feet and includes new curbs gutters and storm sewers.
