U S Army helicopters and Vietnamese troops attacked a Viet Cong gathering 25 miles south of Danang killing about 85 enemy and capturing 25 suspects. An American helicopter gunner was slightly injured and one Vietnamese major reported seized documents showing a high level meeting.
Dr Richard B Stark chief of plastic surgery at St Luke s Hospital New York reports on MEDICO s mission in Saigon to train the four Vietnamese plastic surgeons and to address the dire need for reconstructive operations for tens of thousands of war victims. He notes a severe doctor shortage with only 700 physicians nationwide and 300 civilian doctors for 14 million people. A CARE Inc conference release accompanies the MEDICO report. Five day forecast suggests warmer trend after brief cool spell.

A 26 year old Kenya born exchange student Samuel Rohio is set for arraignment in Municipal Court Friday on aggravated assault charges for beating Kent State coed Teresa Harpe two weeks ago. Rohio requested counsel and is held in Portage County jail on a $5000 bond. He is a Kent State graduate student arrested by Kent police.
Columbus report notes a proposed measure seeks to ban Communists from holding public office in Ohio, potentially on the November ballot.
A resolution before the Ohio Senate would impose the ban after approval by both houses and a majority of Ohio voters.

Paul E. Finley 23 of Columbus was reported in Depot area bus station Monday evening asking about schedules to Princeton New Jersey. An abandoned car tied to Finley was found Tuesday on Route 62 near the E B Jones farm. his wife said he had been missing since Monday. Sen Fred L Hoffman introduced a resolution criticizing communism as a threat to our lifestyle and posterity. The House considered licenses suspensions for minors caught drinking in cars and a bill for mandatory suspensions for youth auto theft drag racing and reckless operation convictions.
