Murray City resident Bessie Lovett, 70, collapsed at home and died likely of a heart attack while talking with family. Widow of John Lovette forms Hocking County commissioner, she was born in Murray City. Survived by daughter Mrs Gladys Williams, a grandson, and brother Nick Spencer of Buckner. funeral Sunday at 2 pm with burial to follow.

Nelsonville tuberculosis hospital project gains start soon
Ohio state health director says construction on the new Nelsonville tuberculosis hospital can begin within a month after funds are released. The State Controlling Board authorized 1 079 097 dollars to the Department of Health for the project, with the total expected cost around 1.5 million dollars. The federal contribution stands at 350 thousand dollars for the Southeast Ohio facility.
