Treasury Department plans to revoke indeterminate industrial alcohol permits by court action following two Supreme Court decisions. The rulings state that liquor buyers are not criminal under the National Prohibition Act and permits issued before 1927 cannot be revoked without court action.
Repercussions of the tumult in state Republican ranks over prohibition rippled across Washington. An indictment was filed against three federal enforcement officials and a libel suit for 50 900 was reported as the latest development.
May 27 Canton Ohio Earl Red Miller, whose record 20,400 feet parachute jump was surpassed by Bert White in California, plans a new ascent to exceed 25,000 feet once an aircraft can reach that altitude. Miller set the 20,400-foot mark recently at Akron Airport.
