Power Service Restored Hours Vary In Bend

Spooky darkness enveloped the town as electric power was available from 6:00 A M to 6:00 yesterday with hoped for continued service. Chief Engineer Sayles, outside union rules, served at Forest Run plant aided by two firemen. Streetcar operated 6 A M to 5 P M with no evening service and connections to K M trains at Hodson by private conveyance. The K M Railway provided a community shuttle between Middleport and Hobson for workers. Officials from Great Lakes Co miners and P M Electric offered no firm prediction on duration of the disturbance. A day service keeps industry from severe handicap though a total shutdown would burden Bend’s business. Mail service on the streetcar line could be affected.
