Fire kills university employee as boat burns on Ohio River

In Kanauga along the Ohio River a fire killed Edward Allison Davis, 54, a New Martinsville WV fireman aboard a derrick boat owned by Atlas Towing of Parkersburg. The blaze damaged the hull and boiler house, with $25 000 to $30 000 in losses. Firemen from Point Pleasant and Gallipolis treated Delbert Stover and four others for injuries.

LAS VEGAS Nev Army troops will move toward ground zero seconds after the next atomic blast in a first rapid advance. Tito Cites Progress In Birthday Address

Belgrade Yugoslavia relay runners bearing silver torches from seven provinces brought flaming greetings to Premier Tito on his 60th birthday. Oil Tanker and Barge Crash Claims Six Missing

A Delaware River collision between the 10 441 ton tanker Michael and the gasoline laden barge E D Dodge caused a fire and sinking of the Dodge. One unidentified dead man and two rescued crew members are reported. Six more Dodge crewmen are missing as of last night. The Michael reported its fire under control and continued toward Paulsboro with two crewmen missing. The incident marks the third fatal shipping accident in 10 days in the Delaware area.

Guardsmen Camps Stated Training Plan for Summer

Washington report: about 229000 ground and air National Guardsmen will train in 15 day encampments this summer. Defense Department says 210000 officers and men from 3500 ground units and 10000 from air units will train across more than 50 states and territories. Death of Ohio University professor in Ohio auto crash

Henry A. Frost 69 visiting professor of architecture at Ohio University died early Monday at Sheltering Arms Hospital from injuries suffered in a Sunday afternoon crash near Route 50 A in Poston. His wife Anna Frost 69 was hospitalized with facial lacerations and possible right shoulder fracture. Frost joined the university in 1950 after a career at Harvard and Cambridge schools. Unknown Man Killed On Route 7

An unidentified 18 to 20 year old man was fatally struck on Route 7 about five miles north of Gallipolis by a hit and run driver. The victim, possibly Mexican, suffered a skull fracture and multiple injuries. He wore a yellow T shirt with a woman's figure and a cream shirt, gray jacket, overalls, and tan shoes. Sheriff and highway patrol searched for the second driver Herb Rife Jr. assisted at the scene. The coroner and fingerprinting were used in the investigation.

Lima Hospital Escapee Nabbed in Cleveland
