Five Animals Perish In Stock Building Fire

Five animals died as a fire destroyed the Ohio Valley Livestock Sales Co. yards in Gallipolis. The stock sales building burned in under an hour, with losses estimated at 30 000 to 40 000 dollars. Fifty five animals were saved by local firefighters and neighbors.

Air mail service will inaugurate on or about June 9 at Milwaukee Wisconsin and at Ashland Kentucky according to information to Athens postmaster Arthur Cornwell. Special cachets will be provided for Milwaukee and Ashland with regular air mail treatment authorized. Covers receiving cachet will receive directional service to a designated office where back stamping and onward dispatch will occur.

Bull Still Hiccuping Needs Second Operation

Dr. John Helwig of Ohio State University veterinary college says he may perform another operation on Pete the Hereford bull to stop persistent hiccups. The 16 month old is recovering from a prior procedure at OSU's veterinary clinic and still burps when standing. If last Thursday's surgery fails, a phrenic nerve operation is planned.

Airmen Held in 1952 Korea Murder Case
