Athens traffic survey backs broad changes for city streets
A 44 page Ohio Department of Highways report on Athens traffic from January 1948 urges rapid adoption of recommendations to ease flow and parking. Proposed measures include converting E State between College and Court to a westbound one way, adding left turn lanes on Court St, upgrading signals, standardizing colors, and creating school time lights with central easels. Parking shifts, loading zones on Court St, and improved police traffic coverage are also advised.
