Clarence Skinner, a leading Hocking County farmer, traced farming’s changes over 55 years to Logan Rotary Club. He described hand seeders and broadcast sowing at the turn of the century, now replaced by tractor powered planters and field preparation implements.
Milliken formerly of Logan has been named assistant superintendent of Washington County schools by Ralph Tullis, head of the Logan East Grade School. Milken, Ohio University graduate, leaves Logan East after 1950 1964 term to pursue graduate studies at Indiana University. His wife Dorothy teaches English at Vincent High School in Washington County.
Howard C. St. Clair of Union Furnace donated his 24th pint to join the Three Gallon Club during a Columbus Regional Blood Center mobile visit to Logan on May 4. Mrs. Mary Thompson notes he is the county’s only current member. four others qualified for the Two Gallon Club with 16 pints. Next donor collection is set for June 29 in Logan.

James O'Leary, 62, longtime chairman of the Vinton County Democratic Executive Committee and member of the county board of elections, died Sunday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. He previously served as a road inspector for the state highway department. An unrelated incident reports a four ton elephant crush death near Dallas after a truck overturn.
