Libertarian's elections complaint against Kasich dismissed
The Ohio Elections Commission rejected a Libertarian challenge alleging Gov. John Kasich's campaign and GOP consultant Terry Casey coerced a petition challenge against Libertarian Charlie Earl in 2014. The panel found insufficient evidence of a coordinated effort and dismissed the complaint 5-2. The GOP paid Casey $300,000 for legal work on the case. Casey said he acted independently to oppose Earl, while acknowledging prior contact with Kasich’s campaign.
