A Man and a Woman review shows beauty but thin story

Robert L Powers says the 1966 foreign language winner offers striking visuals and moving moments. Anouk Aimee shines as the widow who falls for a widower, with Eastmancolor photography and a memorable score. The film’s color choices heighten mood, yet pacing drags and the plot remains slight. The haunting theme song lingers, making the film worth watching despite flaws.
