Ruling Against Principal Given In School Dispute

Logan High School principal Ellinger will not be reassigned after the Ohio Bureau of Inspection upheld the superintendent’s view that a principal needs the superintendent’s recommendation. The board had previously overridden the superintendent but state guidance says boards may not overrule on principals. Ellinger, who's served 13 years as principal and 31 years as a teacher, attended the meeting but spoke only briefly. The district also discussed representation for non teaching staff and awarded a contract for two 66 passenger buses, with Belville Motor Co. winning per unit bids.
