New Appraisement Plan Adopted for Meigs County
Meigs County adopts a streamlined appraisement plan with three taxpayers from each township to value land. Frank Ward and H J Blackmore outline a method using office records and plats to assess all realty in two days per township, replacing the previous 30 day per assessor system. The plan aims to reduce costs from about 6004 dollars and to satisfy the requirement that each tract be personally viewed. The measure passes unanimously at the courthouse meeting in Pomeroy on May 21.
