Charles H Ley Dies in Route 50 Crash

Athens barber Charles H Ley 54 was killed when his car crashed into a fertilizer laden farm truck on Route 50 seven miles east of Chillicothe. His wife Jessie 52 is in fair condition with scalp injuries and possible internal injuries. The Ley-Robinson Barber Shop co owner and Mrs Ley, Murphey Insurance Agency owner, were en route to Portsmouth to see the Rev Fr Welch.

A jet helicopter flew toward Mt McKinley from a 10,000 foot base camp in clear weather to rescue a sick woman and four injured climbers. Two prior attempts failed.
