Despondent Chauncey Man Ends Life by Drowning
William Williams aged 60 of Chauncey killed himself by tying iron rails to his body and drowning in Sunday creek near Loeffler mine. Despondent over job loss as a former section foreman, he was found by his daughter Grace Clark after not returning to bed. The body was recovered by Rev. Gilbert Courtney. coroner L F Jones notified. He leaves two daughters Ethel Marks and Clarence Williams, and another daughter Bess Gillespie.
