Derby Yearlings Fail to Produce 1925 Champion
New York writer Davis Walsh reports that neither the Preakness winner Coventry nor Kentucky Derby winner Flying Ebony signals a strong 1925 champion prospects. Analysts call the Derby field ordinary and credit Earle Sande for Flying Ebony’s Derby victory, while noting potential three year olds Master Charlie Stimulus and Sunny Man were sidelined by injuries. The trend suggests 1925 honors may hinge on a few veterans like Master Charlie and Stimulus if they stay sound.

Out of Order Batting Rules in Baseball Scenarios
The text explains that on properly discovered batting out of order, the correct batter is ruled out and any runs scored on the play are erased if the runners had not yet completed their advances. It also clarifies home run ruling depends on the ball remaining in view as it leaves playing territory and the umpire’s view from behind the plate.

Left Handed Pitcher Born Cleveland 1889
The left handed pitcher, born in Cleveland on April 22 1889, began a major league career after being purchased by the Giants from Indianapolis in 1908 for 11000. He moved to Brooklyn in 1915, was traded to Cincinnati in 1920 for Dutch Ruther, and later joined the Braves with Kopf for Jack Scott. An appendicitis operation sidelined him most of 1924 and he was nicknamed the 11400 Beauty. In 1912 he won his first 19 starts, a modern major league record, and pitched a no hit no run game against Brooklyn on April 15 1915 in his first game of the year. In 1911 he went 2 wins 7 losses for a .774 percentage.
