The Pitch and Putter team won the most points in Ladies Team Play at Athens Country Club. Low net awards went to Mary Hope Laura Rosenberg and Tish Kendall in Class A. Margaret Moffett Edith Denton in Class B. Helen Dublin Freda Swearingen in Class C. Polly Boles Juliette Gilmore in Class D. Next team play is Wednesday May 29 and the second free group lesson by Bob Littler is 8:30 a.m. Monday. Every woman member is urged to participate. Improvements at Morrison School Highlight PTA Projects
Morrison School completed improvements funded by the PTA including blacktopping for playground areas such as basketball and tetherball courts and a general game area. Sixth graders with Principal Sidney Roach planted 125 pine trees to reduce erosion on slopes behind the school. A group of University International Club students from South America performed songs and dances and then toured classrooms to answer questions. The Richland Methodist Church sponsors a rummage sale at Wakefield's Garage Friday evening and Saturday morning with new woven rugs for sale.
