Water supply problems plague three tiny school plots
The Buckle-York Board of Education discusses consolidating three under water starved schools into a central campus. Oak Grove avoids a water issue but relies on pumped supply. Kimberly uses a hand pump with a girl taking 16 strokes for a drink, while walls are chlorinated after state inspection. Public input sought at Friday meeting.

Water Scarcity Hits Small Schools in Nelsonville Area
In Nelsonville area schools, water taps are nonfunctional and all washing relies on carrying water. Connet is worst, with a cook supplying three buckets daily before the well runs dry, and only two more at recess. No indoor toilets, soap, towels, or lids on latrines raise disease risk for 160 students in grades 1-8 across three schools. Teachers juggle four grades per room, kitchens are recent at Oak Grove and Connet, Kimberly uses an open space for cooking. Rotary talk at Kimberly highlighted Badger’s Gentle Life, urging patience and lawful effort. Guests included Wilbur Gehrbach and Gerald Baird.
