Price Mine Inspected Leads to Safety Improvements
The Price mine of HPW Coal Co. at Lathrop was reinspected by Inspector J. B. Vanity. Recommendations include temporary safety posts in face regions and relocating the surface ventilating fan into a fireproof housing with an aid duct and relief. Replace wooden gob stoppings with incombustible ones. Haulage conditions are satisfactory overall for 20 workers and about 100 tons daily, but clearance is lacking on new haulage ways and there are obstructions at several points.
