Second Columbia Slip Threatens Residence
A $35 000 Joneswood Drive home lies in the path of a landslide that has already erased half of Columbia Avenue between Northwood Drive and Strouds Run. Crews cut trees Saturday to relieve pressure while soil borings and pilings are prepared to protect the road, one lane only. The slide is among seven undermining city roads and another Columbia segment near Roosevelt Drive and Madison Avenue slipped last week despite pilings installed under a previous slide.
