Teachers Continue Meeting in South Bend Strike Stand

Navy Recruits Lower Aptitude Personnel to Fill Needs

The Navy announced it must recruit a sizable share of men with limited testing aptitude to meet manpower needs. Typically six percent fall into this Group IV category, but November through March figures show 27 percent in November, 24 in December, 24 in January, 25.7 in February, and 22.1 in March. The recruits are directed to unskilled technical roles such as cooks and boatswain's mates.
