It dealt a severe blow to hopes of a quick transition to self government as Moslem League demands for an independent state clashed with Congress opposition.
A 1000 pound iron lung was delivered at sea yesterday to the Bride ship Thomas H. Barry for treatment of an English war bride suffering from intermittent respiratory paralysis. The lung was flown from New York to Newfoundland and taken aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Duane to rendezvous with the Barry about 90 miles east of Sable Island, Newfoundland.
Columbus physician Dr William D Murphy 75 died yesterday. A Starling Medical College graduate of 4896, he practiced in Columbus for 30 years. Services set for Wednesday with survivors including his son William D Murphy Jr of Zanesville.
A plane brought 58 000 hatching eggs from Gettysburg Ohio to Poland to aid families. The ship arrived Saturday carrying Ray Etersime the project originator from Gettysburg. It departed Dayton last Tuesday. Constance Bennett to wed Col John Theron Coulter in June for the fifth time at Riverside.
