Southeast Hospital Wins Safety Council Award
Southeast Ohio Tuberculosis Hospital employees earned a safety award from the National Safety Council for an injury free run from March 18 1957 to December 31 1971. Sam Moscato accepted the plaque for staff while Dr Charles Baldwin lauded the team and the hospital auditorium ceremony.

Vinton Landfills Open to Residents and McArthur Site Fee Charged
The Vinton County Board of Health stresses licensed landfills and haulers for residents during the season and warns of fines for disposing at non approved sites. Open sites include Eagle Two Road 5-E first Saturday, Richland Two Road 4-A first and third Saturdays, Vinton Two State Route 346 North first and third Saturdays, Wilkesville Twp 8-W second and fourth Saturdays, and McArthur behind Crownover's lumber every Saturday with a fee for the McArthur site. Township landfills serve residents of their townships only with no fees. McArthur landfill is open to all with a fee.

Fain to Receive Two Broadcasting Scholarships
McARTHUR Ohio senior Phil Fain of Vinton County High School will receive two college level broadcasting scholarships. He earned the Ohio University Radio-Television Talent Scholarship and the local WATH Athens award for the Ohio Association of Broadcasters scholarship. Archie M. Greer of Ohio University School of Radio-TV announced the awards last week. The grant covers four years of study and the local WATH winner will receive a $50 savings bond. His application is now under consideration.

Logan county title office reports April totals with 1077 titles issued including 216 resale 178 retail 409 used casual and 233 new. Nelsonville Rabies Clinic Set Saturday at City Park Shelter
The county wide rabies clinic will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the city park shelter house. Athens County commissioners and Athens City-County Health Department sponsor the event. The inoculation fee is one dollar, with dogs on a leash and cats in a covered basket or box.
