In Meigs County near Syracuse the Adam Roush house, built over a century ago by a cabinet maker, preserves a sunrise painting above the upper balcony. The Roush family, with Revolutionary War and War of 1812 links, has long owned the 115 acre homestead in Sutton Township. Nearby, Noble Milam of Perry Rural School broke a leg playing softball and is hospitalized in Holzer Hospital.
