Nelsonville report states Home Health Services at Mount St Mary Hospital received 6000 dollars from Athens County Revenue Sharing funds. Coordinator Andi Schmidt announced the grant on Thursday to support continuing home health services.
Miss Schmidt leads Home Health Services offering skilled nursing, physical and speech therapy visits to about 60 patients in Athens County. Services, coordinated with physicians and the Athens Mental Health Center, cost 15 dollars per visit with Medicare coverage common. Funds from federal revenue sharing aid operations, but program faces funding shortfalls after a three year federal grant ended.
The Messenger reports two men found dead in a car on Angell Ridge from carbon monoxide poisoning. Athens County coroner Dr. Robert Butts identified one victim as William Orley Graham, 64, of Athens Route 4. the second man’s identity was withheld pending relatives’ notification. The car’s tailpipe was blocked with mud and the engine ran. Graham had a son Charles William and daughter Evelyn Clark among survivors.
Middleport family reports son Jack Hayes, longtime DuPont employee, has been transferred from Circleville Plant to New Johnsonville Tennessee. Hayes began as an operator in 1965, became foreman in 1969, is a U S Army veteran, and serves as chairman of Chillicothe Baptist Church board of trustees and deacon. He will move his family to Waverly Tennessee soon.
Veterans Memorial Hospital notes list admissions for Howard Russell Tracy Salser both of Pomeroy Russell Cummins Racine Rufus Browning Middleport Timothy Campbell Hartford Doris Lee Clifton William Lynch Cheshire Holley Hayes and Tuphine Bailey Shade. Dismissals include Leola Keck Ester Pitzer Frances Warner Richard Friend Margaret Fortune and Charles J Hawk. Pomeroy police arrested and jailed William Reeves and Wade Little both of Pomeroy for intoxication.
