Nelsonville Names City Recreation Director for 1972 Summer
Tommy McMannis will direct the city recreation program for the three month summer period with Virgil Grandy as assistant. Lifeguards and pool attendants were named, pool repairs scheduled, and lighting for a park softball diamond funded by the Nelsonville Area Development Committee. Tickets for the Alumni Association banquet and dance go on sale, with banquet at 3.50 and dance at 2. The council approved only a three month salary, despite a proposal for an extra month's pay for McMannis.

Logan Ohio health department will discontinue participation in the Medicare Home Health program due to stringent requirements and lack of patient referrals. The change will not affect patient care when written orders come from the attending physician. Betty Howard RN resigns effective June 16 after serving since June 1967.

Logan Man Injured When Roadway Gave Way
A Logan man, Mark Foster Burgess Jr., 33, was injured when the road collapsed under his tractor trailer on Township Road 344 near Nickle Plate Road. The truck rolled onto its left side after the cab left the road. Burgess was taken to Hocking Valley Community Hospital. the crash was investigated by Hocking County Sheriff's Department.

West Logan Sewage Complaints Move to Commissioners
West Logan sewage pollution will no longer be investigated by the county health department as the Board of Health refers all complaints to the county commissioners. Sanitarian Don Robers said federal funds efforts for a sewer system are being reworked, with HUD and Appalachia grants sought but likely not available until next fiscal year.

An eighth grade group performs three numbers. Directed by Miss Kathryn McCoy and Dennis Moore. Admission 50 cents for adults 25 cents for students.
