York's reminiscence maps early Hocking Valley iron era

A Nelsonville contributor recalls the 1880s boom when Buchtel Iron Company built two furnaces at Floodwood south of Nelsonville and the Hocking Valley Iron Company operated Orbiston and surrounding mines. He notes housing, shafts, and a 400 worker workforce, with plans for big ore ventures and a looming syndicate.
