Brutal Assault at Circus Grounds Ends in Jail
A colored circus worker was savagely beaten by two white colleagues during canvas setup. One attacker fled, the other was arrested and jailed after a sledge blow to the head and tent pin strikes left the victim badly injured. The man received medical care and showed improvement. One assailant paid a five dollar fine, later arrested again on an assault with intent to kill charge. preliminary hearing expected before Mayor Mintun.
