Webb City Missouri May 10 A gang of six robbed the Webb City Bank cashier Lee A Daugherty forcing vault access after entering through the ceiling. The thieves escaped with sixteen thousand dollars as the bank opened at eight in the morning.
Athens County Grand Jury members W. N. Russell Gu Lowery and Wayne Baumgardner spent about ninety minutes in the county jail after being left inside by a deputy. The trio banged on the cell door to attract attention but were ignored as officers counted twelve jurors and left. They were released once the mistake was found.
