Athens bypass hearing ends with citizen input
A near capacity crowd of over 200 debated the Athens proposed bypass during a state highway hearing led by Division Highway Director John Dowler. Comments favored and opposed the Route 33 east bypass relocation, with concerns on beauty, air pollution, and impact on housing and business as the $24.8 million project was outlined and a transcript review process announced.
